Glad to have discovered the work of this artist, he has made copies of five deteriorated and mutilated 18th century statues from the grounds of the abandoned Château Bonnier de la Mosson in Montpellier, France. I like the way that the artist has not tried to recreate the original statues but made resin copies of the mutilated versions in 5 different colours. There has been some further mutilation of the works and additions of painted nipples etc They are looking a bit uncared for, perhaps this is appropriate? It is really worth taking a look at Allan's website:
Mrs. Autumn and her two daughters by Sigmar Polke
It is definitely worth seeing this exhibition at Tate mod and its great to see so many Polke Pictures together in the same place. There are plenty of examples although some of my favourites are missing. The scale of many of the works are impressive. Here is a particular favourite of mine, it is much much bigger than I had imagined and standing in front you feel completely engulfed by the resin white wash that cascades down and across the canvas. It is worth visiting the exhibition to see this picture alone.
Incredible heap
WALL
Just received my copy of Wall, A poignant story, illustrated beautifully. If you are interested in getting a copy, it is starting to appear in bookshops or you can order online from Waterstones etc - links appear on Tom's website:

A new Paddle
Just completed painting a ukelele for a charity auction/raffle to be held at Brighton's 'Paddle Around the Pier' this weekend PRTP is billed as perhaps the biggest free beach charity festival in the world - see the link for more details:
Ukelele to Woody. Some may be familiar with the picture of Woody with his hand painted guitar. I have always admired the sentiments that he expressed and so this is my own take on it
Apparently the Ukelele raised £570 for the nominated paddle around the pier charities - I would be interested to hear who finally has it now - Phil
Another sun has set
Snow
Thinking about Snow who died in Perth, Australia on Friday. I only met Snow once under very difficult circumstances but my brothers Tim and Jon spent many hours with him in Cambodia. Tim has hours of film footage of his interviews with Snow and hopefully we will get to see and hear his remarkable story in the near future. Today I shall play Lovers Rockers and plenty of Gregory Isaacs. Extra Classic, that's what you are.
Here is a link to an article in today's Phnom Penh Post and it includes a lovely picture of Snow. http://www.phnompenhpost.com/national/maxine%E2%80%99s-owner-local-legend
